Kids Off The Block is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organizaition in Chicago, IL. We are located on the far southside, in the Roseland Community.
Our Mission
To provide at-risk low income youth positive alternatives to gangs, drugs, truancy, violence, and the juvenile justice system.

Kids Off The Block has been featured on AL-Jazeera, CNN, The Guardian, and Fox News this summer.
Over 50 youth ages 14-24 received summer jobs through Mayor Daley's Summer Jobs and Dept. of Human Services. KOB served as the worksite. We beautified the neighborhood by cleaning up vacant lots, viaducts and the streets.
Youth attended three day event at O'Hare Airport, learning about Aviation opportunities, meeting the Tuskegee Airman and enjoying learning about airplanes.
Over 30 young people attended the "Anti-Smoking" event at Kennedy King College
Youth attended the Women's Black Expo, for many it was their first time.
Illinois HealthCare Consortium of Illinois presented a workshop on HIV to over 40 young people. The next week they returned to test those same participants.
13 young people attended the "Born 2 Lead" Leadership Workshop for three days of intense training. All received certificates of achievement.
35 young people participated in the "Dream Summit" to learn about diversity and build self-esteem. The summit lasted for three days.
On June 6, 2009, Kids Off The Block hosted it's 2nd Annual "Save A Teen / Do Something" March/Rally Celebration in Roseland.
KOB youth have formed their own community organizing program called Roseland Allies. Twelve young people will combat the issues in their community that is most important to them.
